Short answer
Same-day cannabis delivery arrives in a time window, not a set clock time. Most orders placed before the shop cutoff arrive 1 to 3 hours after the shop confirms the order. Orders placed after the cutoff go out the next delivery day. The checkout page shows the cutoff and the window for your address.
Same-Day Cannabis Delivery vs Standard Delivery
What sets the arrival time
Four items control the window: order time, shop cutoff, driver route, and distance. A shop with a 3 p.m. cutoff and a 1 to 3 hour window can take a 1 p.m. order and arrive between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. A 4 p.m. order misses that cutoff and moves to the next day.

- Order time: the timestamp on the confirmation, not the time you opened the menu.
- Cutoff: the last time the shop accepts same-day orders. The cutoff can fall 2 to 4 hours before close at some shops.
- Route: drivers group orders by area. A stop added to a route can move your window by 30 to 60 minutes.
- Distance: shops limit delivery to a set radius. A 20 mile route takes longer than a 5 mile route.
Typical same-day timeline
- You place the order and upload ID if the checkout asks.
- The shop confirms the order and sends a window. That step can take 5 to 30 minutes at peak times.
- A driver claims the order and starts the route. The window narrows to 30 to 60 minutes in many cases.
- The driver arrives, checks ID, and completes payment. Keep 10 minutes for the door check.
State hours and local rules
State cannabis agencies set delivery hours. A shop cannot send a driver outside those hours, even if the order came in earlier. California, Colorado, and Washington publish delivery rules that cover hours, driver records, and order tracking. Local city rules can add limits. Check the shop page for the current cutoff and the state agency page for the legal delivery hours in your area.

What can delay arrival
Order volume, traffic, weather, and ID checks add time. A missing apartment number or a gate code can push a stop back by 10 to 20 minutes. A payment issue at the door can do the same. If the window passes, call the shop. Do not place a second order.
