What Makes a Pre Roll Infused

- A center channel of concentrate, called a donut, wick, or worm.

Package weights run 0.5 g, 1 g, 1.5 g, and 2 g. The concentrate adds 0.1 g to 0.5 g of extra material in some products, so total THC climbs faster than total weight.
THC Numbers and What They Mean
Flower pre-rolls test at 15% to 30% THC in state labs. Infused rolls test at 30% to 60%. Some labels show 70% or higher.
THC percentage is a lab result by weight, not a dose. A 1 g infused roll at 50% THC contains 500 mg THC. Inhaled bioavailability for THC sits near 10% to 30%, based on inhalation depth and breath hold. At 20%, that joint delivers about 100 mg of THC across the full smoke. Split over 10 puffs, that is about 10 mg per puff. Treat this as an estimate, not a label claim.
Reading the Label
Look for these fields on the package:
- Total THC and total CBD, printed per gram and per package.
- THCA. Heat converts THCA to THC. Total THC = THC + (THCA x 0.877).
- Batch number, harvest date, test date, and lab name.
- Terpene content, if the producer reports it.
Legal states require potency, pesticide, mold, and heavy metal tests. Rules differ by state. The FDA does not review these labels, and cannabis is not an FDA-approved drug.
Dosing
Inhaled THC reaches peak effect in 10 to 30 minutes. Start with one puff. Wait 15 minutes before the next. A user with low tolerance may find 1 or 2 puffs from an infused roll is a full session. Keep a lower potency flower roll on hand to blend if the first draw hits hard.
Burn, Draw, and Clog
