The Three Price Bands
- Entry: $40 to $80 per month. Common contents are 3.5 grams of flower, two to four pre-rolls, or a small edible pack.
- Mid: $100 to $175 per month. Adds 7 grams of flower, a vape cartridge, or a concentrate.
- Top: $200 to $350 per month. Reaches 14 to 28 grams, concentrates, and accessories.
Brand mix, THC percentage, and state tax rates move these numbers. The same box costs more at the register in a state with a high excise rate than in a state with a low one.
Costs the Listing Omits
- Excise tax: California charges 15% of the retail price. Washington charges 37%.
- Sales tax: state and city rates apply on top in most markets.
- Delivery fee: $5 to $15 per drop, with a minimum order of $25 to $50.
- Payment fee: debit and cashless ATM methods can add $2 to $5.
