Best Humidity for Cannabis Storage With Boveda
Cannabis flower holds best between 55% and 65% relative humidity. ASTM D8197 sets the water activity range for packaged flower at 0.55 to 0.65. Water activity tracks relative humidity, so a sealed jar at 62% RH sits near 0.62 water activity at room temperature.
perfect moisture level for marijuana storage
Boveda makes two packs for cannabis: 58% and 62%. Both are two-way. They release moisture when the jar is dry and absorb moisture when the jar is wet. The pack holds the target until the salt and water solution inside is spent.
best humidity level for long term cannabis storage
Pick First: Boveda 62% 8g
The 62% pack is the default for most flower. It keeps buds from crumbling and keeps the jar below the mold line. The 8g size covers up to 1 oz (28 g) in a quart jar or a sealed bag.
best humidity for cannabis storage jars
- RH: 62%
- Size: 8 g
- Coverage: up to 28 g of flower
- Life: 2 to 4 months in a sealed container
- Price: about $4 to $6 per pack, less in 10-packs
Replace the pack when it turns stiff or crunchy. Boveda states the packs are not rechargeable.

Options
Boveda 58%
The 58% pack suits people who grind dry and smoke in humid weather. It also fits climates where a jar drifts upward. Coverage and life match the 62% pack. The trade-off is faster terpene loss over months.
Integra Boost 62%
Integra Boost is the main alternative. It ships with a humidity indicator card that changes color when the pack is spent. The 8g pack covers up to 28 g of flower. Price runs close to Boveda. The indicator card is the main difference.
Boveda 62% 67g
The 67g pack covers up to 1 lb (450 g) of flower in a sealed tote or a large jar. Use it for curing batches or bulk storage. Cost per gram of flower is lower than four 8g packs.
Hygrometer Only
A digital hygrometer reads the jar but does not correct it. Use one to verify the pack. Accuracy runs about ±2% RH. Add a pack when the reading drops below 55%.

What Boveda Does Not Fix
A pack controls humidity. It does not stop mold that has started, does not block UV light, and does not lower temperature. Store jars at 60 to 70 F (15 to 21 C) in the dark. Keep flower below 65% RH. Above 0.65 water activity, mold and yeast grow.
Boveda packs take space inside a jar. Leave headspace and do not press flower against the pack.
